Do you enjoy the beauty of lovely flowers or maybe you even have a green thumb? Either way you’ll get pleasure from this tour of three spectacular gardens right here in the Des Moines area. Each of the gardens offers beauty in very different ways and we will be guided through each with knowledgeable Polk County Master Gardeners.

The first is the Polk County Master Gardener’s Demonstration Garden, which has a variety of trees and plants. Our Master Gardener Guide will show us landscaping examples, along with how to prune trees and bushes. Lunch will be outside enjoying the beauty of the parks and the weather. We’ll then travel to the Enabling Garden in Altoona, a raised bed garden built to accommodate persons with disabilities and mobility challenges. We’ll wrap up our day with a walking tour of the Discovery Garden on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Come with your friends for this fun, relaxing day!
