Four Sessions: April 24, May 1, 8, 15
Location: Saylorville Lake Visitors Center
Cost: $48
Class Limit: 20 Students
Learn about the history of Iowa’s native plant communities through experimental learning environments. Discern the differences between plants of the prairie and the savanna (open woodlands) through direct observation. Work with class members and the instructor to rehabilitate these public areas to increase plant and wildlife diversity. Students should be reasonably mobile; they should have leather gloves, rain gear for light showers and notebooks for sketching.
