Explore the history and experiences of African-Americans in Iowa. Learn how African-Americans are discovering their roots through genealogical research. Experience the life stories of influential African-Americans in Iowa, many of whom are now considered to be heroes, and examine the unique community of Buxton, Iowa. The fourth session will be held at the Fort Des Moines Museum & Education Center. Sponsored by the African-American Museum in Cedar Rapids.
